Carpets:
Woven Carpets
Woven carpets are recognised as being synonymous with the best in luxury and durability.
Made using traditional processes where the pile and backing are woven together at the same time to give added strength and stability.
Axminster tends to be the best known of the woven carpets and is made in a way that offers great pattern selection. The oldest method of manufacture is Wilton weaving, these carpets often have a more limited colour choice but offer a good variety of textures.
Our selection represents some of the most revered manufacturers:

Tufted Carpets
Tufted carpets are produced by punching the yarns through a primary backing then secured with latex to secondary backing - sandwiching the yarn to hold it in place.
There are many variations of the "tufted carpet", the style is dependent on how the yarn is spun and twisted:
- Twist pile - these are most commonly made using single or two ply yarn twisted together to give texture and strength.
- Velvet pile - finer and less twists than a normal twist pile, gives a smoother "velvety" finish
- Loop pile - where the pile is left as a loop rather than being cut, varying textures from smooth, knobbly or ribbed
- Saxony or shag pile - for the ultimate in luxury these styles offer a deeper, longer length pile
